St. Louis Grand Prix Powerboat
Races
are gearing up For the 36th Annual Event
St. Louis, MO December 20, 2006
The St. Louis
Grand Prix Powerboat Races have finalized the date for 2007.
The races will be held on August 4th and 5th,
2007, at Creve Coeur Lake.
“The St. Louis
race has been called the ‘INDY 500’ of boat racing for many years,
and rightfully so” remarked Race Chairman, Bill Seebold, “and I am
really excited about the 2007 CHAMP BOAT series.”
Champboat Series
President, Mike Schreifer, has been working diligently to help grow
the series, adding races in Hartford, Connecticut, New York, New
York, and Washington D.C. “Watching these CHAMP Boats glide across
the water at speeds of 130 miles per hour is very exciting. Not to
mention, the tight turns that they make, while throwing wake all
over the place. I am looking forward to the St. Louis race, and
glad to hear it will be back for the 36th year,” said
Mike Schreifer.
“The St. Louis
Grand Prix Powerboat races has been a terrific sporting event from
the get go, and has only gotten better with time,” said Race
Director Paul Zagarri. “The move to Creve Coeur Lake several years
ago gave us the perfect venue. There’s plenty of space along the
beach to view the race, and nice, flat, blacktopped area for the
racing teams to work on. We had the best crowd ever this past
summer, and hope to have even more race fans at the 2007 event.”
The 36th
annual St. Louis Grand Prix Powerboat Races will feature
drivers from all over the USA, and internationally. Classes
participating will be the CHAMP Boats, also know as CHAMP1, the
CHAMP2 or SST 120’s, and the CHAMP3 or SST 45’s. For more
